Museum of the Future

The Museum of the Future is a lecture and workshop on User Centered Design with emphasis on how to design interactive installations for museums for students. After lecturing about state of the art cases from around the world and technical possibilities, the students are challenged to create their own idea for an installation, through a design process where they first interview their co-students about user preferences and then extract relevant design requirements. All ideas are pitched at the end of the session.

The 9 design challenges have been developed with Danish museums:

Experimentarium  –  Interactive sound waves
Søfartsmuseet  –  Shipmodels and storytelling
Steno museum  –  A Nobel Prize winner’s office
Textilforum  –  Interactive machinery
Den Gamle by  –  History through portraits   &   Dream city
Københavns museum  –  Rights in the city
Enigma  –  Telecommunications through time
Skovgaard Museum  –  The relevance of folklore

Bookable free of charge for schools through AAU on Demand.
