Glas (2024- )

Glas

Custom scenic design and interactive visuals.

The visual design for Glas draws deeply on the album's themes, reflecting the bands lyrical exploration of personal and ecological narratives, often intermixed into an abstraction of both.

For this project we are diving deep into the texturality of natural elements like glass, ice, snow, water, oil, sand and stardust to embody the narratives from the album, as well as using close up video layers of the band recorded in Copenhagen 2024.

The performance features interactive visuals that respond dynamically to the singers vocals using the power of each singer as a propellant to travel from screen to screen using fluid dynamics and creating a captivating experience for the audience invoking ideas of female fertility, cyclical changes and the womb, as well as spellbinding smoke and Schlieren texturality. Schlieren are optical inhomogeneities in transparent media that are not necessarily visible to the human eye, such as the warm winds whirling around a hot light.

The performance also incorporates real-time depth tracking technology to create effects like water ripples that sway to the movements of the band, and audioreactive effects for the snow and dust-like particles we built custom for the band. Sometimes these look like the dark grimy depths of the ocean, sometimes like the northern lights and rays of starlight.

The custom scenic design was specifically created for this collaboration, featuring a collapsible, tour-friendly design that can be set up in many different configurations depending on the venue, and includes a custom-built projection mapping tool.
Designed for scrim projections (front or back), each visuals has special attention to how light breaks through the surface, and travels over the head of the band, or through them, depending on the venue setup.
The performance is best viewed in a dimly lit room and with only a single spotlight for each singer, and a minimum amount of smoke surrounding the stage but not on it.

In addition to the tour visuals, Uberørt also created the music video for "Lunar Lander".

The project has been created as a collaboration with uberørt (Louise Skjoldborg Lessél and Nina-Franziska Christiansen).
