Sitrekin (2024- )

Sitrekin

The visuals for Sitrekin's performance respond dynamically to the lead singers movements and poses, by using real-time depth tracking technology, allowing her to trigger effects such as particles erupting from moving geometry. The aurora effects and smoke effects in the visuals as well as her Logo are driven by live audio feeds and cues from the band.

The visuals are carefully developed in an artistic collaboration with Kirstine song by song.  They are placed within an aesthetic of paper cut outs, pressed flowers, and machinic precision, and are always at the cusp of both calm and danger, providing a female duality in their expression. So far two visuals have been released: 'As I moved on' and 'Open Chest'.

Sitrekin is the solo project of Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg, a founding member and former lead singer of Blue Foundation. Her work with Blue Foundation, especially on the 2004 album "Sweep of Days," helped push the band to international fame, including the cult status of the song "Eyes on Fire" featured in the Twilight soundtrack.
Her transition to Sitrekin marks a new chapter, with her debut single "Open Chest" topping charts on Danish National Radio P6 Beat.

Her forthcoming debut album blends electronic indie with melancholic pop, continuing her exploration of personal and emotional narratives.

Sitrekin’s music has been endorsed by sound/tech giant Dolby Labs to launch their new spatial audio format Dolby Atmos at their press events in London (2021) and Copenhagen (2022). She is one of the first Danish artists to embrace the new spatial sound format.

The project has been created as a collaboration with uberørt (creative technologists Louise Skjoldborg Lessél and Nina-Franziska Christiansen).
